Abuja, Nigeria — The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa, today, Thursday, 11th September 2025, received the British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Richard Montgomery CMG, on a courtesy visit to the APGA National Secretariat in Abuja.

The visit, undertaken by the British High Commissioner, provided a unique platform to engage with the APGA National Chairman on matters of mutual interest, particularly the forthcoming off-cycle governorship election in Anambra State slated for November 8, 2025, the ongoing constitutional reforms and amendments, the 2027 general elections, among other key national issues.

Speaking during the meeting, the APGA National Chairman expressed deep appreciation for the United Kingdom’s continuous support in strengthening democracy and democratic institutions in Nigeria. He further recalled the Nigeria–United Kingdom Strategic Partnership (Joint Communiqué, 2024), which explicitly identified governance, the rule of law, and democratic institutions as areas of bilateral cooperation, noting that APGA’s commitment to a credible electoral process aligns with these shared values.

Barrister Ezeokenwa used the opportunity to reaffirm APGA’s unwavering commitment to ensuring a free, fair, transparent, and credible governorship election in Anambra State. He stressed that the party remains focused on providing good governance through people-oriented policies while consolidating the transformational strides recorded in Anambra State under the leadership of Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR.
