DUNUKOFIA LGA SECRETARIAT NOT RAZED BY FIRE

The office of the LG TC Chairman of Dunukofia LGA has been inundated with the wrong information being made on social media that the Dunukofia LG Secretariat was set on fire.

These informations are not true, as they're coming from those whose business is cooking up only bad news and propaganda against the government.

On Thursday, February 7, 2024, at about 6.50 p.m., a fire outbreak emanated from the bush behind the Secretariat and affected part of a Primary Health Centre (PHC), a detached bungalow built by the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), at the isolated portion inside the LG Secretariat, and about 400m away from the Secretariat Complex.

The fire was suspected to have been caused by Herders who normally ignite fire in the bushes with the intention of burning the dried grasses to give way for the fresh ones on which their cattle would be grazed. But then, the State Fire Service was on the ground to contend with the fire and prevent the PHC building from being raised.

Aside from part of the PHC building affected by the fire outbreak, the Secretariat is safe and was not raised down as falsely reported by these propagandists.

The general public is hereby advised to disregard the untrue reports made about the incident.
