APGA NATIONAL CHAIRMAN MOURNS CHIEF DR. CHUKWUEMEKA EZEIFE (OKWADIKE), FORMER GOVERNOR OF ANAMBRA STATE, AS HE LIES IN STATE.

Awka, Anambra - The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Chief Chukwuemeka Ezeife (Okwadike Igbokwu), former Governor of Anambra State, as he lay in state at the Government House, Agu Awka.
The solemn occasion of lying-in-state for Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife evoked deep sorrow and reflection among the dignitaries and well-wishers present.
Barr. Ezeokenwa, who was present at the State House Lying-in-state, expressed profound grief over the loss of Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife, acknowledging him as a man of wisdom who played a pivotal role in shaping the foundation of the present-day Anambra State. Ezeokenwa commended Dr. Ezeife for his unwavering advocacy for Igbo interests and his steadfast commitment to the Igbo cause.
The Governor of Anambra State and the National Leader of APGA, Prof Chukwuma Soludo CFR, who received the body of Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife, paid tribute to the late former Governor for his exemplary courage, determination, and contributions to the progress of Anambra State.
The event was graced by a multitude of dignitaries, including the Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Hon. Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim; the former Governors of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi and Dr. Chris Nwabueze Ngige; the former Governor of Enugu State, Chief Okwesilieze Nwodo; Dame Virgy Etiaba; the Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze; representative of the Chief Judge of Anambra State, J. I. Nweze; the Ohaneze Ndi Igbo President General, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu; the Chief of Staff to the Senate President, Barr. Sylvester Okonkwo; the wife of the late Ikemba Nnewi, Amb. Bianca Ojukwu; members of the National and State Assemblies; members of Anambra State Executive Council; various officers of APGA at both national and state levels; prominent industry figures; traditional rulers; and a host of other distinguished personalities.
The APGA National Chairman condoled with the government and people of Anambra State, the family, friends, and associates of Dr. Chukwuemka Ezeife, and all those affected by his loss. He prayed for the peaceful repose of Ezeife's soul and stated that his legacies would continue to inspire and influence future generations.
The lying-in-state ceremony served as a poignant moment to honor the memory and legacy of Chief Chukwuemeka Ezeife, a statesman whose impact on Anambra State and the Igbo nation will be enduringly remembered.
