APGA COMMITS TO LIFTING NIGERIANS OUT OF POVERTY, AFFIRMS NATIONAL CHAIRMAN BARR. EZEOKENWA
By Dr. Tony Olisa Mbeki
Abuja, Nigeria - The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa, has avowed the party's steadfast commitment to lifting Nigerians out of poverty, as part of its core mandate.
Speaking on X Space, formerly Twitter, today while reflecting on his first 360 days in office and presenting the roadmap for APGA, Barr. Ezeokenwa underscored APGA's dedicated efforts towards addressing socio-economic challenges faced by Nigerians, positioning poverty reduction as a fundamental aspect of the party's overarching agenda.
Reflecting on his first 360 days in office and outlining the roadmap for APGA, Barr. Ezeokenwa highlighted the transformational journey the party has undertaken under his leadership. Noteworthy achievements include establishing a prominent presence for the party through political engagements nationwide, instituting internal democracy, ensuring discipline, inclusivity, rebranding, visibility, the expansion of the party under the DRIVE agenda, and raising the standards of leadership.
Barr. Ezeokenwa dispelled negative perceptions held by a few surrounding APGA as solely an Igbo Party, by showcasing the party's positive contributions and presence across the country. Barr. Ezeokenwa also mentioned that the achievements of former Governor Peter Obi were made possible because he implemented APGA ideology and recorded those accomplishments under APGA.
The APGA National Chairman stressed that the party's greatest asset is its National Leader, the Executive Governor of Anambra State, Prof. CC Soludo CFR, who, in under two years, has excelled in infrastructural development, education, health, security, agriculture, digital economy, and human capital development. Prof. Soludo has empowered over 30,000 youths through technological innovation, vocational skills acquisition, and the One Youth 2 Skills program, providing a seed grant of over two billion naira to over 5,000 youths. The APGA czar declared Governor Soludo as its brand.
Barr. Ezeokenwa, while reiterating the party's core mandate of ensuring zero poverty for Nigerians, added, "In APGA, we are creating a platform where the majority of young Nigerians can belong, pursue, and achieve their political objectives without fear of intimidation. This vision informs the establishment of APGA NEXT Generation, centered around leadership. Under my leadership, APGA aims to be the first political party to implement a 50% reduction in the price of nomination forms for young people within a specific age bracket across Nigeria."
Further emphasizing APGA's progressive stance, Barr. Ezeokenwa stated that APGA will be the first political party to digitize its membership processes. This move will allow young Nigerians to join and engage with the party's activities from anywhere in the world. "Notably, APGA stands out as the only political party that does not demand anything from elected candidates. Elected representatives under the party owe nothing, and APGA's sole expectation is for every elected candidate to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people."
The APGA National Chairman reaffirmed the party's unwavering commitment to creating a more inclusive and progressive political landscape, driving forward positive change and prosperity for all Nigerians.
