Awka, Anambra State – In an unprecedented show of appreciation, never before seen in the history of APGA, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Barr. Sylvester Ezeokenwa, today convened a special reunion with former APGA state officers at the party's national secretariat in Awka. The event, marked by camaraderie and strategic dialogue, reaffirmed the party's commitment to inclusiveness and appreciation of the foundational efforts of its past leaders.
The reunion, a brainchild of the APGA National Chairman, saw a massive turnout of former state executives, including notable figures such as the pioneer Anambra State Chairman of the party, Barrister Ikechukwu Onyeabo; the immediate past State Chairman, Chief Norbert Obi; former Secretary, Barrister Okoli Akirika; and many other former state officers of the party.
In his remarks, Barr. Ezeokenwa commended the former state officers for their unwavering dedication and service, which have immensely contributed to the growth and stability of APGA over the years. He emphasized the need to build on their legacies to further strengthen the party's structures and consolidate its grassroots reach across Nigeria.
The National Chairman also announced plans to honor deceased members of this association, affirming that the party would visit their families and “do the needful” in recognition of their sacrifices and contributions. Additionally, he urged foundation state members to continue supporting the party, stressing that their roles remain vital in APGA's journey toward greater achievements.
Former state officers were also presented with Christmas gifts as tokens of appreciation for their contributions and loyalty to the party.
The current State Chairman, in his remarks, praised the National Chairman for initiating the reunion, describing it as a timely effort to foster greater unity and bonding among serving and former state officers. He noted that reconciling aggrieved former state officers and including them in party activities would strengthen the party's collective mission.
The foundation State Chairman, Barrister Ikechukwu Onyeabo, expressed profound gratitude to the APGA National Chairman for the thoughtful initiative. He acknowledged the gesture as a testament to visionary leadership and inclusiveness, which will inspire trust and loyalty within the party. Barrister Onyeabo pledged the unwavering support of the former state officers for the party’s ideals and future endeavors.
The meeting featured robust discussions on the party’s progress, future strategies, and the need for sustained collective efforts to uphold APGA's reputation as a formidable political platform. Attendees expressed gratitude for the Chairman's acknowledgment of their contributions and pledged continued loyalty to the party's ideals.
