Anambra State stood still in celebration as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa, received a resounding homecoming welcome. The event, held amidst jubilant supporters and party stakeholders, marked a defining moment for APGA's unity and strength following the Supreme Court judgment affirming Barrister Ezeokenwa 's leadership.
Delivering his address, the APGA State Chairman, High Chief Barrister Ifeatu Obi-Okoye, described the event as a celebration of justice, resilience, and the unflinching support of APGA members. He lauded Barrister Ezeokenwa's tenacity during the legal battles and commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for standing firmly behind the party and its ideals. Obi-Okoye expressed optimism that this victory would energize APGA to achieve greater milestones as the next Anambra gubernatorial election approaches.
Anambra State's Deputy Governor, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, also delivered a heartfelt speech, emphasizing the pivotal role of APGA in transforming Anambra State. He reiterated the government's commitment to sustaining the legacy of progress and good governance under Governor Soludo's leadership while rallying support for the party's vision at the grassroots and national levels.
Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa expressed profound gratitude to God for the Supreme Court victory, describing it as a triumph for truth and the rule of law. He extended his heartfelt appreciation to Governor Soludo for his unwavering leadership and steadfastness throughout the legal tussle. He also acknowledged the prayers and contributions of the APGA State Executive, other party organs, and loyal supporters who stood by him during the challenging period. According to Barrister Ezeokenwa, the victory is not just for APGA but for Nigeria and Anambra State, as it safeguards the transformative achievements of Governor Soludo. He stated that the gubernatorial victory for Governor Soludo would be achieved in all 326 wards in Anambra. The APGA National Chairman also remarked that God's favor toward him has been evident, highlighting the unprecedented appointment of an APGA BOT member as a Minister of the Federal Republic and an APGA dedicated member as the MD/CEO of the South East Development Commission during his tenure, which he noted had never happened in the history of APGA. He attributed these successes to the leadership of the National Leader of APGA, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo.
The event featured speeches from notable personalities, including members of the APGA National Working Committee, Board of Trustees, and State Working Committee, who all commended the leadership of Barrister Ezeokenwa and reiterated their commitment to advancing the party's vision.
The highlight of the occasion was the presentation of an award by the Anambra State Association of Town Unions (ASATU), recognizing Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa as the Political Champion of the Year. The award underscored his exemplary leadership and unwavering commitment to the party's growth.
Dignitaries present included the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Chief Ernest Ezeajughi; Deputy Chief of Staff and Chief Protocol to Governor Soludo, Chief Chinedu Nwoye (Glamour); Chief Ugochukwu Obiefuna, Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Soludo and Chief of Staff to the APGA National Chairman; Deputy Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Chief Rt. Hon. Chukwuma Okoye; former Governor of Anambra State, Chief Emeka Sibudu; Members of the National Assembly, including Hon. Paschal Agbodike and Hon. Engr. Dom Okafor; Chief Ebuka Onunkwo (Seahorse); and several members of the State Executive Council, State House of Assembly, and APGA stakeholders.
The celebration underscored the unity and resilience of APGA as a party poised to achieve greater heights under the visionary leadership of Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa and the transformative governance of Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
